Consider a form of persuasion which uses games containing educational or persuasive messages. Based on the rationale of intrinsic motivation, these games should be persuasive as we are motivated to enjoy game components such as storytelling, competitions, achievements, etc. However, some people argued that gameplay may distract us from concentrating on the “serious” content or overwhelm us with unnecessary game interactivity. What’s your take on this issue, or what are the pros and cons of using games for persuasion in your opinion?
