Discovering a pattern

When looking at a rational number as a decimal, it will either repeat or terminate. By looking at the denominator of the rational number, it’s possible to anticipate if its decimal expression will terminate or repeat.

1. Make a short list of rational numbers and their decimal expressions.
2. Try to find the pattern.
3. Share your thoughts and discuss your findings in the discussion with your classmates.
