Find Two Appropriate Non-Scholarly Sources Using a Search Engine such as Google or Bing
Locate the search terms you developed in Week 3. Use them and a search engine (like Google or Bing) to find two non-scholarly sources that address your research question. In order to be appropriate, these sources must pass the CRAAP test.

The source, as mentioned earlier, is an article journal. The article’s most outstanding
claim or thesis is that the child abuse offenders target children by applying various qualities, but
not just any child. Another hypothesis is that the writer was curious to determine how the
offenders engaged in multiple activities to prevent child abuse acts. In support of the thesis or
instead claim, the authors of the article conduct interviews with the offenders to determine the
exact method they use to commit such offenses. For instance, the victims confess that they gain
access to the children through caretaking activities such as babysitting at home. An incident in
the article shows how the offenders go for mental treatments to prevent them from thinking
about abusing the children at any given time. The report additionally claims that the offenders
were not bothered emotionally or in any way by their child abuse deeds.
The article fully supports the thesis as it elaborates on all areas concerning child abuse.
Again, the paper discusses how to help the individuals committing the offense and the children
who are victims of child abuse. The authors wrote the article in the year one thousand nine
hundred and ninety-five, which is not that recent but very useful up to date. The journal article is
peer-reviewed and employed empirical data to reach its conclusion. The only limitation is that

the report only focuses on the offenders and the child abuse act but gives fewer details on the
abused children. By helping the child abuse offenders, the article helps answer my research
question about the overall goal of helping the abused children is realized.

Annotation
The source, as mentioned above, is a journal article. The central thesis or else claim of
the piece is posed through a question; How safe are our children? The thesis quests to find out
how free are children from child abuse. An instance in support of the thesis from the article is;
the source claims that there has been an increase in the number of child abuse cases, as indicated
by the police. Again, the report claims that children are not safe both offline and online,
something that leaves a gap on whether children are safe or not. The article claims that at least
36% of individuals can add efforts to help children prevent the occurrence of child abuse.
The source entirely supports the thesis as it answers the question; How safe is our
children. The information is detailed to provide insight into how to approach the issue. The
article is recent as it was published in the year two thousand and sixteen and was authored by
Bentley, O’Hagan, Raff, and Bhatti. The source is also peer-reviewed and uses both qualitative
and quantitative data to reach its conclusions. The source did not have any notable limitations.
The source discusses the possible solutions to keep children safe from child abuse, which is
essential in response to my research question.

Annotation
The article mentioned above is an e-book article. The central thesis of the e-book article
is focused on the healing or rather recovery of children that are abused or were abused. The
report elaborates on the various ways’ children are abused and working closely with the
victimized children to see how they get over the abuse incidence they had to experience. To
support the thesis, an example from the article is that children face various atrocities or rather
mistreatment, which may include; child labor, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. Another
instance from the article is when society decides to respond to the child abuse incidences. This is
achieved by working closely with the abused children and help them recover. The source also
points out how the child abuse act has been practiced over the years and its dangers to the
children and society.
The article entirely supports its thesis as the discussion answers any questions that may
arise from the thesis or instead claim the e-book article. The article is authored by Gil and was
published in 2012, making it a more recent or instead article to deal with current issues. The
article is credible and authoritative as the information employed is sourced from empirical data
and other peer-reviewed sources. The report is useful to my research question as it provides
insight on how children may receive help after or when they are facing child abuse acts.
