1)A leader I know who has impacted many people in the workplace is my former supervisor, Janet. Janet uses a leadership style that empowers everyone at work. One of her notable actions that has impacted me on a professional level is that she trusts the members of her time with the responsibilities of making key decisions within the organization. During the decision-making process, Janet collects information and opinions from everyone. Then, she uses them to make a decision that empowers and gives a sense of belonging to everyone. In addition to that, Janet promotes a culture of open and transparent communication. She is one of the best leaders in listening and allowing people to express themselves. For example, there was a time at work when some members were not delivering the expected results, she asked for everyone’s opinion on how to increase our sales and we all communicated anonymously without worrying. Another action I have seen from the leader is that she leads by example, does what she says, and expects us to do at work. For example, she is never late for work. There is no doubt that her leadership is reflected in the organization because everyone does what she expects them to do. Also, organizational goals and objectives are met within the set deadlines.

Parent and Lovelace, (2018), write that effective leaders are key to building a positive organizational culture. This is because they are the ones who have been impacted by the roles and responsibilities of defining an organization’s core values, beliefs, and ethics. In addition, they are central in the management positioning, meaning they influence key decisions within the organization. Therefore, effective leaders can create and maintain a positive organizational culture.

2)Hello everyone,

One of the ways the best managers impact their team and shape their organizational culture is by defining and enforcing the organization’s values, beliefs, policies, and the way things should be done within the organization while maintaining an environment that is enjoyable to work in.

A previous manager of mine used to have a way of maneuvering around the workplace and interacting with everyone that made working easier and that made the added a layer of liveliness and enjoyability to the working environment. I venture to say that this specific manager of which I am mentioning leadership style was situational. This style of leadership for the manager I think worked well because of the set-up of the establishment itself. For instance, the organization was family owned which I think played a role in how certain things played out such as: the managers ability to lead and essentially have an impact on the culture. The organization’s culture was very flexible to changes and to what was needed. I think that the relationship between the most effective leaders and a positive organizational culture is made up of communication, structure, discipline, and other things. They both exist simultaneously and can have some effects on each other both positive and negative.
