Question One
You work in the credit department of JoyRiders Prams Ltd., a firm that supplies baby prams
and baby walkers. Your firm recently successfully petitioned for bankruptcy of one of your
most elusive clients, Little Jonnie Walkers Inc. for an outstanding debt totaling Kshs. 1.7 m
– inclusive of cost, accrued interest and legal fees charged. The court passed a bankruptcy
judgment on him, and an interim receiver was appointed to handle liquidation of the firm’s
estate.
As a consequence of the Bankruptcy Order being made on the debtor:
(a) Explain in detail the stigma and restrictions that befall a person declared bankrupt in a
court of law
