Using the internet, find population statistics for the state of Texas for the beginning of every decade from 1950 to 2010. Then either use the regression feature on your calculator or do an internet search for a website that computes regression equations. Find a linear regression model for the poppopulation, a quadratic regression model, and an exponential regression model. Then use each of those models to calculate the current population of Texas and find the most recent estimate you can. Which of the models gave the best estimate?
