Page 334, Problem 18:Consider a file whose size varies between 4 KB and 4 MB during its lifetime. Which of the three allocation schemes (contiguous, linked and table/indexed) will be most appropriate.

Page 335, Problem 34:

Consider an application where students’ records are stored in a file. The application takes a student ID as input and subsequently reads, updates, and writes the corresponding student record; this is repeated till the application quits. Would the “block read ahead” technique be useful here?

Please write a shell script called “greeting” that displays a message “Hello, cfs264su24xx (using your owe login ID)” followed by the current date in the format of “yyyy-mm-dd”. Then print a list of the users who logged in the system only on Feb 10 of this year. Print a message “The users who were on the system on Feb 10.” as the last piece of the information in your greeting message.
